one – SEDUCED BY THE DARKNESS
Alberto Venzago and his partner Julia Fokina have been working under the ONE label for eight years. She is the art director, model and inspiration at the same time. ONE invents opulent visual worlds that are full of references to art history. The pair's shared interest in the dark, in mythology, in pathos give birth to film-like compositions. "These images celebrate more than life can offer me," says Julia Fokina. ONE now consists of hundreds of works that almost programmatically explore boundaries and question social conventions. Their work has been shown at the ART MIAMI, Rudolf Budja Galery in Salzburg and Petra Gut Contemporary in Zürich.

ONE – making of
The collaboration with my partner Julia Fokina is almost a home game. What initially started like a children's game in the sandbox became more serious. The demands on ourselves grew. The stories became clearer. We combine photojournalism and fine arts, interpreting events in a new, emotional and often provocative way. Sometimes we had a camera team with us to document the creation of the pictures. But I think it was more for us to realize it was not just a dream. We actually photographed these images. It is fantasy and reality at the same time.
