Working so closely with the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich requires trust on both sides. The members of the orchestra allow me to look into their innermost souls, and I try not to abuse this wonderful gift. I am very grateful to the musicians and Paavo Järvi for the respect they show me. I come from a family of musicians; my father was a violinist and my brother is a great conductor. Furthermore, I know what it is to be a musician, and sometimes I feel more like a musician in the orchestra. I am thrilled about how the two worlds intermingle-music becomes imaginative, and pictures become sound.
